Dinosaurs are coming to Burnsville

BURNSVILLE -- Jurassic Giants, an exhibition of robotized dinosaurs, will be at Burnsville Center from Jan. 17 through April 14.

The display consists of eight animated replicas of prehistoric dinosaurs designed to stomp, roar and move in an authentic environment. The exhibit has previousy appeared at the British Museum of Natural History, the Academy of Natural Science in Philadelphia, and the Oregon Museum of Science.

Among the creatures on display will be adult and juvenile Apatosauruses, an 18-foot-long Tyrannosaurus Rex, adult and juvenile Triceratops, a Protoceratops with a nestful of hatching eggs, and a Pteranodon with a 23-foot wingspan.

Visitors will also be able to operate a 9-foot Tyrannosaurus Rex in a special hands-on exhibit area.

The exhibit is presented in cooperation with the Science Museum of Minnesota. Admission is free.

Burnsville Center is at the intersection of Interstate 35 and Dakota County Road 42.@et
