A public hearing on updating the state list of endangered, threatened and special concern species will be held before an administrative law judge at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Room, 1517 16th St. S.W., in Rochester.

The Department of Natural Resources is proposing to remove 15 plants and 14 animals from the list, but add 67 animals and 114 plants.

How should Zumbro Lake costs be split?

With plans for a $7 million dredging project at Zumbro Lake, the state has committed $3.5 million. The other half will be paid locally. It has been suggested that the local contribution be split three ways, with lakeside landowners paying a third, Rochester Public Utilities paying a third and the remaining third being divided between Olmsted and Wabasha counties.
