And he is not alone. After more than a decade of war, a surge in the number of veterans and active service members returning to school is sweeping across Minnesota colleges and universities. Armed with the benefits of a post-9/11 GI Bill and seasoned by their service, many are making college their first stop in their transition back to civilian life and work.
