The fall youth choral music festival, hosted by the Honors Chorale, consists of an afternoon of clinics and rehearsals with guest choirs from area middle schools and guest clinician Dr. Tim Peter, head of the music department and a professor of music at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. The festival culminates with all the choirs, that's more than 150 singers, joining together to present a collaborative concert.
Each choir will be showcased individually and then end with all voices joining together to sing "Like a Mighty Stream," a gospel-style piece by Moses Hogan and John Jacobsen.
Honors Choirs is a nonprofit organization of four auditioned youth choirs for singers in grades 3 through 12. The Chorale is directed by Jon Strommen Campbell.
