Bright side of U.S. 63 to go dim

Sort of the antithesis of the brighter side, but Al asnd Jen Whipple, whose Christmas displays at their home have lit up U.S. 63 North since the 1970s are pulling the plug.

The brighter side is they're selling their decorations for others to light the night.

The Whipples decorated their house and much of their 19 acres each year since the house was built in 1968.

Oh my, we're on TV

Samantha Bluhm doesn't typically watch the Oprah Winfrey Show.

The 24-year-old Chatfield woman travels around Minnesota and to different parts of the country to work at carnival concessions and games.

But on Monday, she couldn't miss the show. Because she was on it.

As Mayo Clinic patients from around the world check into Rochester hotel rooms this week, one hotel expert is speaking to a conference about medical tourism.

Bruce Fairchild of Sunstone Properties in Rochester is speaking to thousands of health care professionals, insurance experts and travel leaders at the World Medical Tourism and Global Health Congress about Rochester as a national and international medical destination for people.
