The search continues for a Rochester man charged in connection with a violent assault on his 47-year-old mother.

Prakash Prasad Peethambaram, 19, of 607 E. Center St., No. 306, was charged today with first-degree aggravated robbery, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated harassment and two counts of gross misdemeanor domestic assault. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The woman's 17-year-old son saw Peethambaram assaulting his mother Wednesday at her house in Pleasant Grove Township and called 911, authorities say. Peethambaram allegedly took his mother's car and fled.

The woman had stab wounds on her face. She told deputies she had obtained a restraining order against Peethambaram in September because of previous assaults.
