Dr. Michael Camilleri is the new medical director for the Mayo Clinic Department of Development.

Camilleri succeeds Dr. John Noseworthy, who was named national CEO of Mayo.

According to Mayo Magazine, he is a professor of medicine and physiology. He has been a consultant in gastroenterology, as well as physiology and biophysics, the magazine says. He previously was chairman of the Mayo Foundation Medical Industry Relations Committee and the Mayo Foundation Conflict of Interest Review Board. He was most recently medical director of the Office of Strategic Alliances.
