EVANSTON, Ill. -- Stefan Demos kicked a 19-yard field goal with 21 seconds left Saturday and Northwestern completed a comeback from 25 down to top Indiana 29-28.
The Wildcats (5-3, 2-2) trailed 28-3 in the second quarter.
But Mike Kafka hit Andrew Brewer on a 51-yard TD pass early in the fourth quarter to cap a 98-yard drive that got Northwestern within 28-26.
The Hoosiers gambled again on fourth-and-3 in the fourth quarter from the Northwestern 33, but a pass from Ben Chappell was tipped away.
Iowa 15, Mich. St. 13
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Ricky Stanzi connected with Marvin McNutt for a 7-yard touchdown pass as time expired and No. 7 Iowa remained undefeated.
The Hawkeyes are 8-0 for the first time in school history and have sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.
Iowa (4-0 Big Ten) has won 12 straight dating back to last season, the second-longest streak in the nation.
Purdue 24, Illinois 14
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Joey Elliott passed for 166 yards and ran for 62 yards and a touchdown, and Purdue beat Illinois.
Ralph Bolden ran for 78 yards and a touchdown, and Jaycen Taylor ran for 71 yards and a score for Purdue.
Mikel LeShoure rushed 15 times for a career-high 122 yards for the Fighting Illini (1-6, 0-5 Big Ten). Illinois lost its fifth straight, and all have been by double digits.
The Boilermakers improved to 3-5 and 2-2 in the Big Ten.
Penn State 35, Michigan 10
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Daryll Clark threw three of his four touchdown passes to Graham Zug, helping No. 13 Penn State beat Michigan 35-10 for its first win at the Big House since 1996.
The Nittany Lions (7-1, 3-1 Big Ten) shut down the Wolverines (5-3, 1-3) Saturday after they opened with a 70-yard TD drive.
