Brand scored four touchdowns

RUSHFORD -- Third-seeded Rushford-Peterson scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and built an early insurmountable lead over No. 6 seed Faribault Bethlehem Academy.

R-P senior running back Logan Brand was a one-man wrecking crew, rushing 20 times for 152 yards and four touchdowns. Brand scored on runs of 26, 3, 8 and 4 yards, all in the first half.

The Trojans scored on their first play from scrimmage following a long kick-off return by Dalton Mensink to start the game. Brian Eggert scored on a 40-yard pass from quarterback Steven Koenen.

FBA answered R-P's first score promptly with an 85-yard kickoff return for a score by George Richie.

R-P finished with a big 372-144 advantage in total yards. Koenen completed 4 of 6 passes for 130 yards. FBA got all of its yards rushing, and zero passing on 1 of 8 attempts. FBA finished 3-6.
