Football | Grand Meadow 49, Alden-Conger 28

GRAND MEADOW -- Caleb Leichtnam rushed for four touchdowns and passed for another as top-seeded Grand Meadow rolled past Alden-Conger 49-28 in Section One, Nine-man semifinal action on Saturday.

Leichtnam had 20 carries for 244 yards. He had touchdown runs of 48, 13, 31, and 1 yards. He also threw a 59-yard TD pass to Michael Gehling.

"He's just very dangerous in the open field," Grand Meadow coach Gary Sloan said. "Some of those are designed runs and some are passes where he pulls it down and runs."

Gehling rushed 12 times for 119 yards, including a 9-yard TD run. He went over the 1,000-yard mark for the season and now has 1,085. Leichtnam entered the game with 1,055 yards rushing, and now has 1,299.

Leichtnam was 2-for-8 passing for 66 yards.

Grand Meadow (9-1) had 469 total yards, 403 on the ground.

Fifth-seeded Alden-Conger had 127 yards rushing and 187 passing for 313 total.

A-C quarterback Lucas Kleinschrodt was 11-for-23 for 186 yards with two TDs and an interception.
