MADISON, Wis. -- Blake Geoffrion scored two goals Friday as Wisconsin beat Minnesota 4-2, giving the Badgers their first three-game winning streak over the Golden Gophers in more than nine years.

The last time Wisconsin (4-2-1, 2-2-1) beat its WCHA rival more than two straight times was a five-game streak from Nov. 12, 1999, to March 17, 2000.

Geoffrion ran his season goal total to five with tallies in the first and second periods. Wisconsin also got goals from Cody Goloubef and Ben Street.

Alex Kangas of Rochester made 28 saves for Minnesota.

Minnesota's Mike Hoeffel answered Geoffrion's first goal with his fourth of the season to tie the game 1-1 at 1:31 of the second period.

But Goloubef and Geoffrion gave the Badgers a 3-1 lead heading into the third period. Goloubef picked up the puck at the blue line, crossed the slot and backhanded it past Kangas.

Patrick White scored on the power play at 8:47 of the third period to pull the Golden Gophers (2-4-1, 2-4-1) within a goal. But the Badgers didn't give up many more opportunities down the stretch.
