After getting a limited shipment of injectable H1N1 vaccination shots Thursday, AMC decided to organize the clinics for Saturday and Sunday in the mall's community room. Tentative clinics also are planned for Monday and Tuesday but are subject to change.
Pregnant women, people who live with or provide care to infants less than 6 months old, and children ages 6 months to 18 years old are included in the clinics' targeted groups. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
People in the targeted groups will be screened to determine if they need to get the mist or shot vaccination, based on guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Those not in the targeted groups will not be able to receive the vaccine at this time, AMC said. As more vaccine becomes available, AMC will schedule additional dates.
Earlier this week, AMC officials announced they received a shipment of H1N1 nasal-spray vaccines and would begin vaccinating patients only by appointment.
