An Austin man is wanted for allegedly using false ID documents to get work in the area and possibly selling forged documents.

Pedro Quetzecua-Romero, 35, is charged with four felony counts of aggravated forgery from Jan. 11, 2007, to Sept. 30, 2009, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday in Mower District Court with an arrest warrant.

The counts relate to Quetzecua-Romero, 1007 Sixth Ave. N.E., allegedly using false ID cards from Minnesota, Missouri and Arkansas as well as a false U.S. Social Security card.

According to the complaint, Cinthia Reyes-Rodriguez, 25, called Austin police, under the advice of her attorney, on Aug. 28 to meet with a detective to reveal the source of her forged documents.

In June, Reyes-Rodriguez was charged with two felony counts of aggravated forgery and one count of felony identity theft for allegedly using a Missouri woman's identity to work locally. The Missouri woman reported last year to police in Missouri that her purse was stolen several years earlier and contained her driver's license and Social Security card.

Reyes-Rodriguez is set for a Nov. 20 contested evidentiary hearing for her case.

According to the new complaint, Austin police and federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents interviewed Reyes-Rodriguez, who reported that Quetzecua-Romero approached her and her husband about eight years ago to sell IDs.

Quetzecua-Romero allegedly told them a 28-year-old woman had given him her ID documents to sell. Reyes-Rodriguez told authorities she understood the $1,000 they paid for the documents would go to that woman.

Quetzecua-Romero is from Mexico and worked last year with Reyes-Rodriguez at Select Foods in Albert Lea under another person's name, the complaint says. Reyes-Rodriguez said she heard Quetzecua-Romero was selling other IDs but didn't identify anyone who bought them.

Authorities realized they had various documents tied to Quetzecua-Romero, including his Mexican driver's license, from a search warrant conducted in January at an Austin home.

On Oct. 6, Reyes-Rodriguez told police she saw Quetzecua-Romero three days earlier at an Austin store.
