The Southeastern Minnesota Suzuki Association will celebrate its 25th anniversary with "Gasshuku" Friday and Saturday at Rochester Central Lutheran School.

The workshop will feature a newly commissioned piece, "Northern Lights," by Catherine McMichael.

During the workshop, students will work on their own compositions with McMichael, as well as with other expert clinicians, including Jere Lantz, conductor of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra.

Students compositions will be played at a concert at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The premiere of "Northern Lights" will be at 4 p.m. Saturday.
