Prayer planned for the jobless
An adoration holy hour focused on praying for those who have lost their employment or are without work for any reason will be held at 6:45 p.m. today at Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester.
The prayer will also focus on all those who are encountering economic challenges.
The hour is scheduled to begin and end with short communal prayer, with time for silent individual prayer and meditation.
The church is west of Mayo High School at 1600 11th Ave. S.E.
TAIZE gathering to be held
A TAIZE gathering, which will be held at the close of the day, bathed in candlelight in Christ Church Chapel in Rochester, is set for 7 p.m. Nov. 13.
The gathering will include Scripture readings, meditation and reconciliation for those who seek peace and harmony.
Christ United Methodist Church Chapel is at 400 Fifth Avenue S.W. Please use the northeast parking lot door.
Turkey dinner set for Nov. 14
ORONOCO -- A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be held at Douglas Methodist Church, 6507 75th St. N.W., Oronoco, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Douglas Methodist Church on Nov. 14.
Cost is $9 for adults, $4.50 for children 5-12 and free for children under 5. Take-out is available.

Catholic Daughters host luncheon
ST. CHARLES -- Court St. Charles Catholic Daughters will host their "Hat's Off to Fall" luncheon on Nov. 14 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in St. Charles.
The hot turkey meal begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by a generational fashion show by the "Girls of Fashion & Fun" and concludes with a raffle drawing.
Attendees wearing a vintage or new hat will receive a ticket for a special drawing.
Presale luncheon tickets are $8 ($9 at the door).
