• Splinter, a freshman long-distance runner for the Packers, has qualified for the Class AA State Meet.

• She becomes the first Austin girls cross country runner to qualify for the state meet in 16 years. The final race of the season takes place on Saturday at St. Olaf College in Northfield.

• Overcame muddy and windswept conditions at Brooktree Golf Course in Owatonna last week to finish sixth in the Section 1AA Meet. Despite the adverse weather, she ran close to her season's best time.

• Finished in third-place at the final regular season meet, the Austin Invitational on Oct. 13 at River Oaks Golf Course. Fellow state qualifier Chrissy Monson of Albert Lea won that event.

• Was named to the All-Big Nine Conference team after a fourth-place finish at the conference meet. This was the highest finish at the Big Nine Meet by an Austin girl in over a decade.
