The local rock band Chester Bay is one of 12 bands vying for the top prize in a national battle of the bands sponsored by Land Shark lager.

Earlier this week, Chester Bay was in second place on the "Leader Board" showing the results of the online voting. However, the band is looking to move into the top slot with your help.

Online voting, which is the fourth and final round of the competition, continues through Nov. 23.

The 12 finalists were chosen by celebrity judges from battles of the bands held in Chicago, Nashville and Austin, Tex. Chester Bay competed in Chicago Sept. 17 after garnering enough votes in a previous round of online voting.

The winning band will receive a promotional prize pack valued at more than $100,000, including a full-page Land Shark advertorial in Rolling Stone magazine, a digital distribution deal and promotional support.

Chester Bay draws on a mixture of influences from classic rock to progressive and blues to reggae. The band consists of Jake Bosben on acoustic guitar, harmonica and vocals, Cory Bosben on bass and vocals, Marc Greely on drums and Nick Pairolero on lead guitar. The band's name comes from combining the hometowns of the musicians, Rochester and Green Bay.
