I dialed 10 times over the course of 3 hours and then waited on hold for 7 minutes to get appointments. Not as bad as I thought it would be.

Check your sources. I just tried to schedule my husband who is a primary care patient at mayo and under the age of 50 - they are not yet taking appts. for this group unless there is an infant under the age of 6 months at home.

Yesterday there were multiple changes made to the online article. It’s difficult to know what the correct information is now…

I agree roch123.The story yesterday said that kids 6 months-18 years could get the injection and now anyone 2-49 with no underlying illness can get it?Kind of seems strange to me that people 49 and younger with an underlying illness cannot get the shot but healthy people can.

Since the article was posted today (11/04) at 12:50 PM, yesterday seems insignificant. I agree, it is very poorly written and does not well describe who they are now accepting for the injection or the nasal mist.

One thing is certain. The whole handling of the distribution of H1N1 vaccine is a giant cluster foul-up at all levels.

napolean,
The gummint cant get anything right, what makes anyone think they’re going to get medicine right?
Personally, I’m avoiding all the flu and H1N1 vaccine shots. The last thing I want is Nanny gummint giving me a shot in the arm.
Plus, I seem to have fared better these last few years without the flu vaccination, as opposed to the many years I had it.

Did you hear that some patients in the nurseing homes now have died from the H1N1? I hope we will all be improtant enough to receive this shot. They still are not giving them where I live. Sounds crazy to me. I still fear for my little grandaughter. It’s hard to find a good doctor the only one that I have is from Rochester. I think you are very blessed.

Jewels1,
From what I have read, take your vitamins.
Vitamin D and vitamin C with a zinc are most often recommended.

Looks to me like they have started to pull the plug on anyone over 50.

unless there are serious medical issues, most people over the age of 50 already have some immunity to H1N1.
