HOUSTON, Texas -- Thomas (Tom) S. Kincy of Houston, Texas, passed away of cancer on Oct. 9, 2009.
He was born in Harlingen, Texas, on Nov. 6, 1948.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William P. Kincy (Jean Breinholt) of Houston; an older brother, W. Perry Kincy of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and aunts, Marilyn Breinholt of Rochester and Barbara Breinholt Mock of Chicago.
Tom was a 1970 graduate of Texas A&M University and a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Cadet Court. He was also a member of the Ross Volunteers and Mensa Society, and was on the university golf team. After serving in the U.S. Army, Tom returned to Houston and became involved in the delivery service business. In 1978, he became president of Skyline Messenger Service, a division of American Delivery Systems. He remained active in delivery services and was affiliated with Gulf Coast Parcel until his death.
Tom was a professional golfer in the Houston area. He played out of Pinecrest Golf Club and was an ambassador for other clubs in the area. Tom was a fixture on the Houston golf scene and was noted for his attire and sense of humor by Doug Sanders, a PGA professional.
A memorial service celebrating Tom's life was held on Oct. 14 in the chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Texas A&M University.
