ROCHESTER -- Margaret E. Peterson, age 87, of Mound, Minn., formerly of Rochester, died Oct. 20 at Presbyterian Homes in Spring Park, Minn.
Mrs. Peterson was born on Dec. 29, 1921, and lived in Towner, N.D. She also lived in Minneapolis for nine years; Aurora, Colo., for three years; and Rochester for 60 years.
In 1945 Margaret (Hennessy) married Charles Peterson in Rochester. Mr. Peterson was a carpenter; he passed away in 1999.
Margaret was a Clerk Typist for Federal Land Bank in Berkeley, Calif., before she married Charles in Rochester. She was also a past member of St. Pius in Rochester and St. Peter in Richfield, Minn., and belonged to the Eagles in Rochester.
Survivors include her children, Jean (Rob) Howells of Mound, James Peterson of Charleston, W.Va., Dennis (Stephanie) Peterson of St. Marys, Ohio, Mary Jo (Dallas) McCafferty of Thornton, Colo., and Cheryl Peterson of Denver, Colo.; a stepsister, Noreen (Hector) Salcedo of Anaheim, Calif.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Robert, and brothers John and Jim.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. A reception/luncheon honoring Margaret's life will follow from noon to 4 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, across from Saint Marys Hospital.
Memorials are preferred to the Arthritis Foundation.
