ROCHESTER -- Hazel Irene Cogswell, 84, of Rochester, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Golden Living Center East, where she resided since January 2003.

She was born Jan. 2, 1925, in Becker, Minn., to Ludwig and Florence Bolstad. Hazel lived in Edgely, N.D., as a child, and was one of 10 children. She later moved to Rochester, where she met Adrian Cogswell. They were married on May 28, 1948.

Hazel was a homemaker and employed as a housekeeper. She enjoyed reading and traveling with her husband.

Survivors include three sons, Joe (JoAnne), Jesse (Deb) and Frank, all of Rochester; one daughter, Patricia (Marvin) Hanson of West Concord; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian, in 2003, and her daughter Iris in 2000.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. at Macken Funeral Home, with the Rev. James W. Heining officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place following the service at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
