ROCHESTER -- A funeral service for Ardelle Raymond Adler will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Macken Funeral Home, with Pastor Jack Miller officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Ardelle Raymond Adler, 69, of Rochester, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, of lung cancer, at his residence.
He was born in Millville on Aug. 14, 1940, to Lauren Adler and Mildred (Greeter) Adler.
Mr. Adler was in the Army for three years. He worked in construction and retired from Pace Dairy after working there for 22 years.
Ardelle enjoyed woodworking, going to flea markets, antiques, fishing, camping and visiting Laughlin, Nev.
Ardelle married Phyllis Joan Heldt on June 15, 1962, in Pine Island at Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
Mr. Adler is survived by his wife; a son, Michael (Linda) Adler of Chatfield; a daughter, Sue (Mark) Kruger of Rochester; four grandchildren, Nicole Kruger, Allison Kruger, Brandon Adler and Brooke Adler; mother, Mildred Adler of Chatfield; five sisters, Shirley (Stanley) Kaase of Preston, Audrey (Palmer) Borgen of Rochester, Karen (Steve) Heldt of Rochester, Carol (Royce) Quimby of Richfield, Minn., and Dianne (Darrel) Larson of New Mexico; six brothers, Vernon of California, Gary (Betty) of Arizona, Carey (Kathy) of Elk River, Minn., Merle and James, both of New Mexico, and Charles of Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lauren Adler, and brother Lauren Jr. "Sonny."
A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Macken Funeral Home, and one half-hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
