SARGEANT -- The funeral service for Arthur Wildeman will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Zion United Methodist Church in Sargeant, with the Rev. Jon Schultz officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Brownsdale.
Arthur Wildeman, 79, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 4, 2009, at his home in Sargeant.
Arthur Wildeman was born June 14, 1930, in Boyden, Iowa, the son of Arie and Jennie (Roelofs) Wildeman. He was united in marriage to Mildred Taylor on Sept. 5, 1948, in Sargeant. Mildred died on June 18, 2007.
Art farmed in the Sargeant area for many years. He served on the Sargeant Township Board, Sargeant Co-op Board and was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Sargeant. Art enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
Arthur is survived by six sons, Bill (Kathy) Wildeman of Racine, Bob (Mary) Wildeman of Sargeant, Russell (Sally) Wildeman of Hayfield, Roger (Laurie) Wildeman of Stewartville, Brian (Becki) Wildeman of Red Wing and Bradley (Mari) Wildeman of Gretna, Neb.; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Adri (Willie) Funfar of Nora Springs, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred; and one sister.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Czaplewski Family Home, 501 2nd St. N.W. in Hayfield, and one hour before the service at the church on Sunday.
