PHILOMATH, Ore. -- Stephanie Louise Wolk, 51, formerly of Rochester, passed away peacefully at her home in Philomath, Ore., on Oct. 19, 2009.
Stephanie was born May 5, 1958, to Herschel and Elizabeth (Norman) Wolk in Minneapolis. She grew up in Rochester and attended several local schools. She graduated from St. Coletta School in Jefferson, Wis., in 1979. Stephanie returned to Rochester and was employed at the Ability Building Center from 1980-1988. She later moved to Oregon, where she continued to work for industries that employ adults with developmental disabilities. Stephanie enjoyed working, listening to music, going to concerts, traveling, and above all: spending time with her family.
"Stephie" will always be remembered for her happy disposition and loving nature.
Stephanie is survived by two sisters, Judy (Tom) Clifford of Bend, Ore., and Saundra (Larry Hannon) Wolk of Sacramento, Calif.; and one brother, Stewart (Nancy Trinkes) Wolk of Rochester. Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service celebrating Stephanie's life was held on Oct. 24 in Philomath. There will be a private graveside service in Rochester at a later date.
The family suggests memorials to Ability Building Center, Rochester.
