Heartland appoints regional sales manager
Heartland Security has appointed Thomas Vega as the regional sales manager.
Vega has been in the security field for more than 15 years, has been presenter/lecturer for the National Systems Contractors National Convention and partnered with local engineering firms on local and national projects.
Peoples Cooperative Services, Tri-County Electric and Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services, along with 10 other Minnesota cooperatives, own Heartland Security and through it provide alarm and security systems.
Design contest winner announced
Minnesota/North Dakota Jewelers Association awarded Bernie Benavidez of Master Jewelers in Rochester first place in the professional category of the design contest held during the annual association convention.
Benavidez submitted a lady's pendant of white gold with blue tanzanite and diamonds. This winning design is now qualified to compete in the 2010 Jewelers of America design contest in New York next March.
Founded in 1904, the Minnesota/North Dakota Jewelers Association is a statewide organization of retail jewelers.
DeMott joins Bluestem
Sylvia DeMott, a licensed independent clinical social worker, recently joined Bluestem Center for Child and Family Development.
Her practice includes adults and adolescents. Her interests include anxiety and mood disorders, work-life balance, women's issues, parenting and stress management.
DeMott moved to Rochester from the Boston area, where she worked as a clinician at McLean Hospital, a psychiatric hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
Slawson earns Perry Nichols Award
The Florida Justice Association recently awarded Richard Slawson the Perry Nichols Award at its Founders' Luncheon on Oct. 16 in Orlando, Fla.
Slawson is a 1963 graduate of Lourdes High School and resides in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. He is known as an exemplary attorney who has "given generously to local charities and causes, focusing on the safety of children and helping needy, neglected and abused children get their lives back on the right track and giving hope to countless children and families for a brighter future," according to the FJA.
The Perry Nichols Award was created in 1977 as a tribute to FJA's founder and first president, Perry Nichols, and recognizes those who fight valiantly for justice throughout their legal careers.
