John "Jack" Bruehling, 62, of Rosemount, entered into eternal rest on April 14, 2013. His wife, Mary Lou, died two weeks later on April 28, 2013, after her four-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
A memorial Mass was held for the both of them on May 2, 2013, at St. Joseph Church of Rosemount.
John Peter, the son of Alvin P. and Marjorie (Sybeldon) Bruehling was born Jan. 28, 1951, in Chippewa Falls, Wis. He became a responsible, caring son at the age of nine. When his father died, he became the man of the house. He and Mary Lou graduated from McDonell High School of Chippewa Falls. They later married on Oct. 31, 1996.
Jack was a master gardener and exceeded in all he accomplished. A very talented young man, Jack took care of Mary Lou during her battle with cancer, caring for her with his homeopathic regimens as well as many other patients "Jack" helped get through their battle with cancer.
Jack and Mary Lou were married 43 years and had three children, Heather (Tim) Boehmer, of Rosemount, John, of Rosemount, and Jessi (Alex) Cleberg, of Minneapolis. They were blessed with six grandchildren, Nicole, Adam, Alex, Drew and Ashton Boehmer and Eden Mary Cleberg.
They taught their children and grandchildren the values of modesty, character, creativity and adventure, the importance of friends, family and community, responsibility, Earthliness, and how to love and appreciate the simple things in life.
Jack is preceded in death by his brother, Denis, his father, Alvin, his mother, Marjorie, his grandparents, an aunt and an uncle.
He is survived by four sisters, Nancy (Kuhn) Allen, of Tucson, Ariz., Betty (Gilbert) Honermann, of Rochester, Susan (Shafer) Letterly, of Prior Lake, and Jean (Klingsporn) Braun, of Ironton, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
