There will be a private family service for Richard Harlon Johnson on 2 p.m. Sunday, April 8, at Johnson's Pheasants Forever on County Road 12, Dodge Center, with Rev. Dean Gunn officiating.
Richard Harlon Johnson, 67, of Dodge Center, passed away on Good Friday, April 6, 2012, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Richard Harlon Johnson was born on March 21, 1945, the son of Raymond H. and Evelyn (Gibbons) Johnson in Owatonna. Richard attended high school in Dodge Center and served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966. He was united in marriage to Nancy Rowe on Sept. 28, 1969, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center.
He was a part-time farmer with his father for 11 years and was a welder at Cybex in Owatonna, retiring in 2007. Richard was an avid hunter, fisherman and dearly loved his grandchildren and his dog, Missy.
Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy J. Johnson, Dodge Center; children, Greg E. Johnson of Owatonna, Dallas D. (Jody) Johnson of Sargeant, Danver Lee Johnson of Dodge Center, and Shane R.A. (Shannon) Johnson of Byron; eight and one-half grandchildren; and two brothers, Rodney R. (Dee) Johnson of Maple Grove and Dwayne (Linda) Johnson of Visalia, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family prefers no flowers.
