The 2020 Rochester Shakespeare Festival has been canceled, due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19.

Immersion Youth Repertory announced Monday that the community gathering, slated for June 13, would not take place this summer.

Immersion Youth Repertory’s summer classes and camps will still occur, according to the press release, though they may be modified to reduce risk, as the Minnesota Department of Health, governing agencies, and camp resources release new information and guidelines related to the virus.

Over the summer, the youth theatre will perform Guys & Dolls Jr. and Spamalot: School Edition. Auditions for those productions have been moved to June 27 and 28.
