I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth with a degree in fine arts. At UMD, I was trained as a classical painter, also dabbling in 3-D design, ceramics and fibers. I worked in the Twin Cities as a designer for commercial design firms. I did that for a number of years before moving with my husband to Southern Minnesota to raise our four children.

After the children were grown and on their own life adventures, I redeveloped my love of fine arts and finding beauty in objects rejected by others. I began to repurpose discarded materials and furniture, bringing them back to sustainable, functional and aesthetic art (thus keeping them out of the landfills). During this time, I dug out my old oil paints and again began enjoying putting paint to canvas. I also upcycle furniture and hand-paint signage.
