Adrienne Gray Hunter - Virginia Beach, Va.

Adrienne (Lee) Gray Hunter, beloved Mother, grandmother and sister, formerly of Illinois, Minnesota and Crystal River, Fla., passed away on March 27, 2011, at her daughter's home in Virginia Beach, Va., after her strong and courageous fight with ALS over the past three years.

She attended Northwestern University and graduated from the University of Minnesota. She was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She was a devoted wife, mother, friend, educator, reader, volunteer, golfer and avid traveler.

In addition to her parents, Wayne and Leonie Turk Gray, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Bill" Hunter. Surviving are her children, Jayne (Rod), Suzanne, and Bill (Julie); granddaughters, Christine and Laura; sisters, Jayne Haag and Mary Lou Paxton; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 12 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Crystal River, Fla. A private inurnment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to the ALS Association-DC/MD/VA Chapter at 7507 Standish Place, Rockville, MD 20855, in memory of Lee/Adrienne Hunter. www.ALSinfo.org
