Alice I. Dahl - Rochester

ROCHESTER — Alice I. Dahl, 93, of Rochester, formerly of rural Galesville, Wis., died Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Sunrise Cottages.

She was born on June 22, 1917, to Edwin and Eda (Temte) Larson. She married Lloyd Dahl on Oct. 16, 1937, in La Crosse, Wis.

Alice has been an active member of the French Creek Lutheran Church, being involved in choir, Sunday school and part of the WELCA. Alice loved the ministry of quilting. She also had a passion for growing and arranging flowers. She enjoyed Norwegian folk dancing.

Alice is survived by three daughters, Audrey (Willard) Dunlap of Albuquerque, N.M., Linda (Dennis) Pedersen of Coon Rapids, and Sharon (Bruce) Franklin of Rochester; five grandchildren, Kris (Stephen) Wade of Albuquerque, Paul (Debbie) Pedersen of Indianapolis, Ind., David (Emily) Pedersen of Coon Rapids, Alissa (Matthew) Movern of Edina and John Franklin of Rapid City, S.D.; three great-grandchildren RiLeigh Wade, and Kaia and Tor Pedersen. She is also survived by three brothers, Clarence Larson, LaVerne (Beatrice) Larson and Richard Larson; one sister Ardelle Larson; sisters-in-law, Clarice Larson, Mildred Larson, and Lois Larson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents and husband; grandson, Timothy Dunlap; and five brothers, Harold, Edwin, Anton, Kenneth and Arthur Lawrence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the French Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick, Wis., with the Rev. Bryce Fellbaum officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given in Alice’s name to the French Creek Quilters or Lutheran World Relief.
