AUSTIN — Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, St. Cloud, for Barbara E. Reuter, 50, who died after a sudden illness Thursday (Feb. 17, 2011) at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Rev. Thomas Knoblach will officiate and burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids, and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church. Parish prayers will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Barb was born June 19, 1960, in Ft. Frances, Ontario, Canada, to William and Arleen (Grandaw) Borden. She grew up in International Falls and graduated from International Falls Senior High in 1978. Barb graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth for 10 years. She married Bret Reuter on March 25, 2000, at Christ Church Newman Center, St. Cloud.
Barb was a Registered Nurse at the St. Cloud Hospital Family Birthing Unit. She received her master’s degree of pastoral ministry from St. John’s University. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth School and Children’s Day Montessori.
Barb was an ordinary and extraordinary woman. Everybody who was privileged enough to meet her felt loved and respected. Her face was always radiant with joy. She was pure love and goodness and she generously and devotedly poured out her love to her family, her God, and her many friends who meant the world to her. Her legacy of love, faith and generosity will live on in all of them.

Survivors include her husband, Bret of St. Cloud; son and daughter, Carsten and Elliana, both at home; parents, Bill and Arleen Borden of St. Cloud; sisters and brothers, Patty (Doug) Grinsell of Sioux Falls, S.D., Bob (Mary) Borden of Cloquet, Tony (Diane) Borden of Minocqua, Wis., Mary Jean Borden of Sartell and Jason (Michelle) Borden of Sartell; nieces and nephews, Jonathon, Justin, Holly, Jordan, Heather, Laura, Jonathan, Wayne, Jes, Kyle, Sydney, Neil and Haylee; parents-in-law, Ron and Marilyn Reuter of Austin; and brother-in-law, Todd (Michelle) Reuter of Manson, Iowa. Barbara was preceded in death by her grandparents; and nephew, Elijah.
