Two new board members and one incumbent were elected during the People's Cooperative Services 75th annual meeting on April 14.
• In District 3, incumbent director Robert Hoefs was re-elected, defeating John Carson of Oronoco. Hoefs has served the cooperative as director since 2002.
• In District 5, candidate Jerome Wooner was elected, defeating incumbent director John Nintemann and candidate Dale Fleming. Nintemann had served on the cooperative’s board for 15 years.
• In District 7, candidate Jeff Orth defeated incumbent director Sharon Hart, who had served on the cooperative’s board for 24 years. During her tenure she served as vice-chair for several years.
The board members will elect board offices at the April 28 meeting.

People’s Cooperative Services, founded in 1936, is a member owned electric power utility serving the rural area surrounding Rochester. It has approximately 12,000 members in Olmsted, Dodge, Fillmore, Mower, Wabasha and Winona Counties and provides power to a number of municipalities throughout that area.
