The Med City’s newest workout center opened its doors in northwest Rochester this week.
Anytime Fitness opened at 4181 31st Ave. NW. Owner Matt Jewison built the 7,360-square-foot building on open land, behind an O’Reilly Auto Parts store and across 31st Avenue from Mayo Clinic’s 41st Street Campus.
Aaron Lipka and Trynton Schwartz are managing the new 31st Street center.
This is Jewison’s second Rochester Anytime Fitness location. The original one opened in late 2016 in a 7,000-square-foot space in the River Center Plaza at 1629 N. Broadway.
When that center hit maximum membership capacity, he decided to build a second one.
The concept of Anytime Fitness is a 24-hour exercise center, which members can access whenever with electronic key fobs.
It features a lineup of cardio machines, free weights and circuit-training equipment. Membership at Anytime Fitness provides members with access to any of almost 4,000 clubs in the U.S. and another 4,000 international locations.
A popular Twin Cities name might be trying to get a piece of the Med City’s pizza pie. A little pepperoni bird is chirping about a possible new Rochester project for an old Minnesota family pizza restaurant chain.
I’ll keep an eye on this to see if this is the real deal or a false alarm.
