Now that construction of its offices is complete, a psychiatric practice plans to move into its new northwest Rochester facility next week.
Associates in Psychiatry and Psychology, which provides a variety of mental health services, will begin seeing clients in its new 6,000-square-foot complex at 3101 Superior Drive NW on Monday morning, according Owner and Director Dr. Bonita Patton.
While building a new facility took several months longer than she originally anticipated, Patton says it has all turned out well.
"In the long run, it was all worth it," she said. "It turned out beautifully."
Besides room to expand her staff of 11 by three or four employees, the new complex features a two-bed, sleep study clinic for diagnosing and treating sleep disorders as well as a new blood draw room.
APP has long been based in the Ironwood Square Buildingat 300 Third Ave. SE. While Ironwood Square has been a good location for the practice, Patton said she is looking forward to having more parking as well as more space in the new place.
APP also has offices in Wabasha, Faribault and Owatonna.
Everyone knows that plans change sometimes, but it seems plans are much more fluid than usual in downtown Rochester these days.
It seems many business development schemes are switching multiple times as the game board keeps getting reset.
Some deals are moving way beyond Plan B or Plan C, and the way the playing field keeps shifting, you have to wonder if plans will run all the way through the alphabet before the movers and shakers lock things down.
For example, the buzz about one particularly high-profile downtown deal sounds like it has reversed direction. Instead of starting new from the ground up as originally planned, the developers may have decided to stand their ground.
I know there's a lot of interest in this, so I'll keep a close eye on it.
