Digital Mike: Here's you chance to give 'P4' and 'P5' new names

How good are you at naming things? Here's your chance to name a couple moons. Read on.

Moons of Pluto

They've only been called "P4" and "P5" up to now, but now you have a chance to help name the previously unknown moons of Pluto . The Hubble Space Telescope took images in 2011 and 2012 that showed the two moons. You can pick names from a list (I like Obol and Eurydice) or write in your own. According to the discovery team, by tradition, the names of Pluto's moons come from Greek and Roman mythology, and are related to the ancient tales about Hades and the Underworld. Or you may choose to go a different route. Give it a shot. Voting closes on Monday.

Stories to be told

Everyone has a story and many ways to tell it. That's what I love about this Tumblr from the Tumblr folks. It's worth a visit to see, hear and read the ways they tell a story about life, interests, hobbies and music. Storyboard is a regular collection of features highlighting talented creators and their work, as found within and around the massively diverse Tumblr community.

Mr. President

We might have our first woman president next election cycle. In the meantime, watch this morphing of every president from Washington to Obama. It's the visual that counts, so click off the goofy tune that goes with it.

What to do?

Here's a great story and video to follow about what's planned for all the letters written to the people of Newtown, Conn., after the shooting massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary. The heartfelt letters and artwork are being preserved in digital images. It's a great idea for many projects. Check it out.
