Domaille Engineering has acquired from Micro Enterprises the OptiSpec microscope line, which it will manufacture in Rochester.
Domaille provides engineering and manufacturing services to high-tech industries and manufactures optical fiber polishing equipment.The company at 7100 Dresser Drive N.E. has 55 employees.
The OptiSpec microscope line offers customers high-quality production fiber-optic inspection capability.

"Our sales and marketing teams spend a lot of time with customers and distributors across the globe gathering knowledge and we feel our high-tech vision of the fiber optic cable assembly process creates a strong customer value proposition."
The acquisition helps Domaille Engineering create a fully integrated, cable assembly manufacture, inspection and final test platform, said Jim Frazer, president of Domaille Engineering.

"Our vision has been to assist our customers with removing as many variables as possible in the cable assembly process and our product development spend over the last six years would support that," Frazer said. "The more successful and competitive our customers are, the more they will rely on our solutions and innovations."
The Optispec microscope has been sold globally for many years and brings with it many satisfied customers, according to Domaille.
Domaille has hired a new technologies manager — John Hagen — to improve the microscope product line, including new MT inspection products, refinement of the current microscope design for easier use and automation/further integration with Domaille's existing line of high-end polishing equipment.
