Seven companies or individuals in this region were fined $16,625 in the first quarter of 2014 for violating various state air and water quality regulations.
In addition, Target Corp., which has stores in the region, was fined $4,900 for hazardous waste regulation violations, according to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency .
The fines were part of 60 enforcement actions the MPCA concluded in the first three months; the fine total was near $345,0000.
The seven in this region are:

• Crown Cork & Seal Co. Inc., Owatonna, for air quality violations, $2,100.
• McNallan Dairy, Kellogg, for feedlot violations, $2,000.
• Red Melo Inc., Austin, for asbestos violations, $1,700.
• Bob Brink Inc., Winona, for storm water violations, $1,275.
• Justin Hulst, Waltham, for solid waste violations, $650
