Green Bay Packers get NY Stock Exchange honor

NEW YORK — How many Super Bowl players does it take to ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange?

The answer: Three.

Charles Woodson, Ryan Grant and John Kuhn of the Green Bay Packers are slated to do the honors on Wednesday afternoon in lower Manhattan.

The stock exchange says the Packers are the NFL's only publicly owned franchise. They also have 13 world championships — more than any other organization.

On Tuesday, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange said it had agreed to be acquired by the operator of the Frankfurt stock exchange. The deal will create the world's largest financial markets company.
