A rapidly growing national dental chain is ready to open several Minnesota offices, including in Rochester and Owatonna.
Aspen Dental Managementis launching 10 new Minnesota locations. The first three will open on Thursday in Owatonna, Brooklyn Center and Coon Rapids.
Aspen Dental's Rochester office is slated to open on March 5 in a newly constructed commercial building near the TJ Maxx Plaza. Dr. John Pettywill be the lead dentist at the new practice. It will occupy much of the new building. No tenant has been announced for the rest of the space.
The Syracuse, N.Y.-based Aspen is a branded "Dental Service Organization," or DSO, with 400 offices in 27 states. The firm estimates that its 10 new Minnesota offices will generate more than $13 million in economic impact.
The organization also has plans to open offices in Bemidji, Cambridge, Hutchinson, Mankato, St. Cloud and West St. Paul.

Biz buzz
Ronald McDonald House of Rochesterrecently made a neighborly real estate purchase on Second Street Southwest.
On Jan. 30, the nonprofit bought an adjacent apartment complex for $825,000. The 53-year-old brick complex stands at 812 Second St. SW, right next to the Ronald McDonald House at 850 Second St. SW.
Ronald McDonald House officials don't have much to say about the buy at this point. It seems like future plans are still being worked out.
We'll just need to wait a bit to see what this change might mean for the 7,698-square-foot apartment complex. — Jeff Kiger
