People's Food Co-opin Rochester was named a bicycle-friendly business, gold level, by the League of American Bicyclists.
Mayo Clinicwas named an honorable mention bicycle-friendly business.
"A bicycle-friendly community, business or university welcomes bicyclists by providing safe accommodations for bicycling and encouraging people to bike for transportation and recreation," according to LAB. "A bicycle-friendly place makes bicycling safe, comfortable and convenient for people of all ages and abilities."
The winners file applications to be considered for the honor.
Both People's Food Co-op and Mayo Clinic provide spots for employees and others to park and lock bikes. Both also are close to bicycle trails in Rochester.

The league has rated Minnesota as the second most bicycle-friendly state in the United States; it now has 72 bicycle-friendly businesses. — Mike Klein
