Heard on the Street: Rochester Title has new home for the holidays

A growing Rochester Title & Escrow Co.is spending the holidays in a new home.

Rochester Title started handling sale closings in a new headquarters at 2870 Superior Drive NW on Monday, according to President Sara Batzlaff. They are planning to host an open house soon, possibly in mid-January.

The full-service title company offers both residential and commercial title insurance and closing services. It has a team of 19 closing and title professionals, including two staff attorneys and support personnel.

Tyson Helder, the title department manager and general counsel, said the new office gives the team substantially more space and more parking than its previous one at 2727 18th Ave. NW.

"We now have five closing offices compared to the three we had before," he said.

Helder, the title department manager and general counsel, said with the rapid growth of the Rochester real estate market, the 29-year-old firm is looking to hire at least two more employees to the main office.

Rochester Title has two other Med City offices as well as satellite offices in Winona, St, Cloud and Owatonna.

Gary Schueller, of Secure Properties LLC, owns Rochester Title's new building as well as a twin one under construction next to it. While Schueller is known as a long-time residential and commercial real estate agent in Rochester with Re/Max Results, this is his first foray in developing commercial buildings.

The second building is still available for lease. — Jeff Kiger
