The owner of a new northwest Rochester service center says his shop can do it all.
"We can fix anything with an engine," says Frank Laursen, who owns S&L Motorsports and Repair. "Cars, trucks, ATVs, motorcycles, boats… oh yeah, and snowmobiles. We're certified to work on it all."
Laursen, who previously managed the Sears Autocenter in Rochester, opened the doors of his new four-bay shop at at 1928 32nd Ave. N.W. in late December.
That puts him just off of 19th Street Northwest, near Costco. Beside himself, he has two other repair technicians on staff.
He previously ran S&L in Adams for a short time this spring, but now he's moved re-launched the business in Rochester in an area with much more traffic and visibility than Adams could offer.

S&L is hosting a public grand opening event at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Staff from Rochester's AutoZone will be on hand to grill hot dogs and hamburgers.
Laursen hopes people will stop by to get to know him and his staff. His goal for S&L is to create a repair shop with an old-fashioned, friendly neighborhood feel.
"I want it to be a comfortable place where people can come in, say hi and have a cup of coffee," he says. "I always tell my customers, 'Don't stress about your car. That's my job.'" — Jeff Kiger
