A Rochester car dealership with roots dating back to 1928 will soon have a new owner at the wheel.

Clements Chevrolet Cadillac, 1000 12th St SW, in front of the Apache Mall, is being purchased by Rob Gregory. When completed, this will be Gregory’s fourth Rochester dealership. Under the umbrella of Rochester Motor Cars, he owns Rochester Toyota, Rochester Ford and Rochester Mazda.

“We are excited to welcome the successful Clements organization into our family of companies. We are committed to growing our team of great employees, customers and serving our wonderful community,” he stated in an announcement of the agreement.

The announcement did not include any details about his future plans for the dealership.

Gregory is buying the dealership from Jack Remick, Dave Remick and John Wade. The employees of the dealership were recently notified of the change.

The deal is scheduled to be completed by late summer 2020, according to the brief announcement. The current owners of Clements will remain involved in the company until the transaction is completed.

Remick acquired the dealership in 2009 , when he purchased it for $7 million from Jerry Bridwell and F.B. Clements & Co. No financial details about the current sale have been released.

John Wade later joined the ownership group with Remick in 2014. He has served as the managing partner.

“I only offer my sincere thank you for the incredible opportunity to work with the entire Clements team and our customers over the past several years,” Wade said on Friday, when asked to comment on the changes at the dealership.
