Look for the dirt to keep flying on the northeast corner of Rochester's West Circle Drive and 19th Street until it's covered with snow.
That's where 108 acres are being re-shaped for a new commercial development planned by the real estate arm of the convenience store chain Kwik Trip.
"The grading should be finished up by the time the snow flies. We're ahead of schedule," says Hans Zietlow, who's in charge of the project for the La Crosse, Wis.-based company.
He says the plan is to install utilities during the winter and build the roads in the spring.
Have any businesses, like a grocery store, a discount retailer or a bank, signed up to build there?

"We have one locked in," Zietlow says with mock seriousness. "There will be a Kwik Trip there."
Uh … OK. And how about any other businesses?
"There is a lot of interest," he says.
It comes down to lining up the businesses in the right order, Zietlow says.
'One needs to go first, and it then attracts the next one, which in turn brings in a third business," he said.
The process continues until, ideally, the entire development is filled.
"It's all about timing," he says.
Meanwhile, a similar 50-acre project being developed by Kwik Trip nearby at West Circle Drive and Valleyhigh Drive Northwest is in a much earlier stage. The only action there so far has been the approval of its zoning.
