Letter: DMC continues moving forward despite protest, concerns

In my early 30s, I stopped a chemical company from building in the community where I lived in Pennsylvania. Had they built, the toxic chemicals would have found their way into the local river.

In my mid-30s, I was faced with another challenge, a proposed mass burn incinerator. I did my research and formed a group, and we defeated it. That county in Virginia recycles; no incinerator was ever needed.

I could not stop Destination Medical Center. No matter how many letters I write to the editor, my voice goes unheard. In my 60s and poor, what did I expect?

Millions and millions of dollars are planned to develop high-end condominiums, a water wall, anindoor winter park, and more.

What will be torn down next to make room for DMC? I shudder to think.
