MADD Olmsted County will host its annual Victim Plaque Ceremony at 7 p.m. today.
The event will be at Evangel United Methodist Church, 2645 N. Broadway, a new location.
Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgerson will be the speaker; KTTC-TV anchor Tom Overlie will read the roll of names. Jim Klepper, of Rochester, will provide music. Rev. Carol Shaffer, chaplain at Seasons Hospice, will also participate.
The plaque, which is in the Olmsted County Government Center, was donated to Mothers Against Drunk Driving by the family of Valerie Woolums, a Stewartville resident who was killed in a drunk driving crash in 1987.
It carries the names of Valerie and many others who have died because of a drunk or impaired driver. The ceremony is to remember and honor those people.
