The Rochester Downtown Alliance, in partnership with Destination Medical Center Economic Development Agency, is seeking proposals for a its"PlaceMakers | Rochester Prototyping Festival."
The Call for Proposals seeks applicants who wish to propose an installation for the Sept. 15-17 prototyping festival. Approximately 12 projects will be selected to receive up to $2,000 to fund each approved prototyping concept.
The Call for Proposals focuses on the prototyping festival goals, areas of focus, and the 2016 Theme: Health and the Built Environment. The built environment includes all of the physical parts of where we live and work, including homes, buildings, streets, open spaces and infrastructure. The goals are to test ideas, engage the community and demonstrate change.
As support and encouragement of the makers is important, the RDA and DMC EDA invite the community to engage in an Idea Jam scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 1 at Studio 324 on 324 South Broadway.
Deadline for proposals is June 17. To view the Call for Proposals and submit a proposal, please visit DowntownRochesterMN.com/events/PlaceMakers/call-for-proposals.
