The Med City is wrapping up April with more beers and burgers on tap than it had in March.

Boulder Tap House, a popular chain owned by the Waite Park-based Letnes Restaurant Group, recently opened the doors of its new Rochester location at 24 17th Ave. NW on the south end of the Miracle Mile Shopping Center.

It is located in SJ Jewelers’ former spot. The longtime local jewelry store is now next door.

This is the seventh Boulder Tap House in MinnesotaThere are three in Iowa.

Boulder Tap House offers a wide selection of 40 beers and ciders on tap, including Little Thistle’s Brave Woman Scottish ale and Four Daughters' Honeycrisp Loon Juice cider.

Biz buzz

A smart cookie recently passed along a tip about a new specialty bakery that’s cooking in the Med City’s northwest quadrant.

I’ve received general confirmation that a Crumbl Cookie franchise location is opening in Rochester. More details are still coming.

It looks to follow the same model that Nothing Bundt Cake uses. Focus on a limited, but premium product line. Crumbl’s menu of cookies includes cinnamon swirl and cosmic brownies plus ice cream flavors like peanut butter chocolate and sea salt toffee.
