It looks like the spirit is willing in an empty Med City retail complex.

Spirit Halloween signs went up recently at Rochester’s former Shopko South store, 2820 US Highway 63, by Menards.

Spirit, a seasonal retailer, usually opens a temporary store or two in the Med City along with their competitor, Halloween Express. A typical season for Spirit is August through October.

The spooky costume and fake blood shop will be located in the south end of the empty 90,000-square-foot store. It closed in 2019 along with all of the other Shopko stores.

Rochester’s Shopko North complex at 3708 U.S. 63 North Is being re-developed by Tom Haley to house Haley Comfort Systems, the new Purple Goat Kitchen and Bar and a yet-to-named retail tenant.
